Thurza Monica Sowten

With profound sadness, the family of Thurza Monica Sowten announce her passing in her 101st year on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Cummer Lodge Long Term Care Home. She ended her life as she lived it, with optimism, kindness, and singing. Beloved mother of Barbara Panturescu (Michael), Brian Sowten (Angela), mother in law to David Dresser,  grandmother to Shawn, Mark, Paul, Mark, Andrew, Victoria, Andrea, Christine, and Rebecca. Great grandmother to Hailey, Katelin, Mitchell, Alice, Ella, Thomas, Jacob, Jayla and Brad.

Predeceased by husband Leonard and daughter Laura.

Thanks to the staff of 4th floor at Cummer Lodge for their care. The family will receive friends at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home 8911 Woodbine Ave onThursday May 7, Visitation at 11:00, Service at 12:00 and reception following.
