MARRIAGE – A message from the Reverend Norman Seli
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage – you must be very excited!
We would be very happy to be a part of your wedding day, and I would be very happy to officiate. I will try to give you the information that you need to decide if Jubilee is the right place for your wedding. Jubilee United Church is very pleased to participate in all unions recognized by the Government of Ontario, and I would be happy to work with you to create the service that recognizes and celebrates your love and relationship. (If you have not yet seen our building, please look at the website under Facilities for pictures of Jubilee.)
- MEETINGS: In planning the wedding, I would like to meet with both of you, twice. The first time we meet, we would spend about an hour and a half or maybe two hours, talking about the wedding and what you would like to see happen in the service; I would get to know you a little bit better and then I would give you a little bit of homework. The homework isn’t hard; it would be selecting readings and vows, that kind of thing. The next time we meet, I would have written a wedding for you and then we could add the parts that you had for homework and see if you like the sound of the whole wedding. If you don’t, we would work together and make it more to your liking. In the end, we would have a wedding service that suits you both and makes your day personal and special. We wouldn’t need to have our meetings until about a month before the wedding.
- REHEARSAL: If you would like a rehearsal, we would have one a day to two before the wedding day.
- COST: The cost of a wedding at Jubilee United Church is:
o $200 for the Church
o $300 for the Minister
o $150 for the Organist/Pianist ( if required)
o $150 for the Custodian
o Total cost : $800.00 / Without Music: $650
- DEPOSIT: To reserve the Church for your wedding, we require a $200 deposit. The rest can be paid at our second meeting.
I hope that I have answered all of your questions. If you have any others, please feel free to call me at the Church.
Again, Congratulations! And may you have a wonderful new life together.
Rev. Norm Seli
