Committees

Would you like to become more involved in the life of Jubilee?

Here are some opportunities for you to help in the running of our church.

Men’s Breakfast Club

This group meets on the last Saturday of January, February, March, October and November.  The President arranges and/or assists in the facilitating of speakers to address the membership.  The purpose of the Men’s Club is to help members gain a better understanding of topics that affect our daily lives in the community and the world around us.  We offer a different start to your Saturday as we gather for coffee, followed by a light breakfast and conclude with the guest speaker followed by a question and answer session.  We charge a nominal fee and the net proceeds are used to help fund items of need for the church from kitchen equipment to hymn books.  It only takes a couple of hours out of the start to your weekend with coffee at 8:30 and finishing by 10:45.  The Club is not restricted to congregational members.  Friends, neighbours and family members are encouraged to join the Saturday meetings. We are always on the look-out for assistance with set-up, cooking, and clean-up.  Hope you can join us at one of our meetings.

Presbytery Representative

The Presbytery Representative’s job is to go to the meetings of Presbytery, be the voice of Jubilee, and bring back news of Presbytery to our Council meetings .  Julie Crann is our current representative, and would be delighted to have someone join her.

Ushers

The role of the head usher at Jubilee is to organize members of the congregation into teams that take an active role for two months of the year to greet the congregation and guests as they arrive at the Church on Sunday morning.  The teams give out the Sunday service bulletin to those attending prior to the service and take up the collection during the service.  It is a wonderful opportunity to meet other church members and have a friendly chat on Sunday mornings.  This is an easy way to become involved in the Sunday services without a major time commitment.
